Become a One Sentence Listener - Amy Warren
Proverbs 14:1 1The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
Proverbs 12:16 16 A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.
James 1:19-20 19My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
Proverbs 23:7 7 for he is the kind of man
who is always thinking about the cost.
“Eat and drink,” he says to you,
but his heart is not with you.
Matthew 12:34 34You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
Colossians 3:1-2 1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
2 Corinthians 2:9 9The reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.
Colossians 3:13 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Psalms 94:12, 18-19 12-15 How blessed the man you train, God,
the woman you instruct in your Word,
18-19 The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,”
your love, God, took hold and held me fast.
When I was upset and beside myself,
you calmed me down and cheered me up.
Deborah The Judge - Eric Warren
Judges 5
The Song of Deborah
6-8 In the time of Shamgar son of Anath,
and in the time of Jael,
Public roads were abandoned,
travelers went by backroads.
Warriors became fat and sloppy,
no fight left in them.
Then you, Deborah, rose up;
you got up, a mother in Israel.
Judges 4:4-5 Deborah was a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth. She was judge over Israel at that time. She held court under Deborah’s Palm between Ramah and Bethel in the hills of Ephraim. The People of Israel went to her in matters of justice.
Deuteronomy 18:18 I’ll raise up for them a prophet like you from their kinsmen. I’ll tell him what to say and he will pass on to them everything I command him.
Galations 6:1-2 Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out.
Judges 5:8 Then you, Deborah, rose up;
you got up, a mother in Israel.
1 Corinthians 6:1-2 And how dare you take each other to court! When you think you have been wronged, does it make any sense to go before a court that knows nothing of God’s ways instead of a family of Christians? The day is coming when the world is going to stand before a jury made up of followers of Jesus. If someday you are going to rule on the world’s fate, wouldn’t it be a good idea to practice on some of these smaller cases? Why, we’re even going to judge angels!
Judges 5:1-31
Ephesians 5:17 17Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants.
18-20Don’t drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of him. Sing hymns instead of drinking songs! Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ.
